► (1874-1928) Filósofo alemán. Su filosofía representa una aplicación de la fenomenología de Husserl a la antropología filosófica y a la moral. En el aspecto antropológico revaloriza el concepto integral del hombre, minimizado por la ciencia y la filosofía empíricas o materialistas. Dentro de su obra cabe resaltar: El formalismo en ética y ética material de los valores.

Filósofo alemán. Es recordado sobre todo por sus aportes a la fenomenología. Su libro El formalismo en la ética y la ética material de los valores (1913–16) contiene una crítica detallada de la ética de Immanuel Kant. En El puesto del hombre en el cosmos (1928) propuso una doctrina metafísica bastante admirable que presenta afinidades con el pragmatismo estadounidense: la humanidad, Dios y el mundo son un solo proceso cósmico, con dos "polos, el espíritu y el "impulso vital; las ideas del espíritu se hacen reales a través de la vida y la historia humanas.
